Fluid flow

Continuity Law, definition of mass flow rate and volume flow rate. Calculation of necessary cross section of a duct at certain volume flow rate. Application of Bernoulli's equation: Flow from opened tank, Ventourri's pipe. Ventourri's pipe for measuring volume flow rate. Friction loss: loss of straight pipe (Darcy-Weisbach equation, Moody's diagram, Hasen-Williams equation, Reynolds number), loss of fittings. Generalized friction loss equations. Friction loss function. Hydraulically equivalent diameter.  Example for calculation of pressure loss.

Central Heating1

Classification of heating system according to the place of heat generation. Fuel sources, distributing media. Main elements of water heating system: Boiler, Pump, Energy usage of a pump, Expansion vessel, Air Vent. Determining the pipe diameter of a water heating system. Chimney (drought, basic chimney types, pressure loss, draft diverter). Distributing network: Comparison of different systems. One pipe system, two pipe system, direct return reverse return. Material of pipes. Heating systems for One-floor heating, floor plan, elevation circuit diagram, two pipe one pipe and one emitter circuit ideas. Demand control (monitoring of heat consumption). Emitters (radiator and convector), calculation of heat emission of emitters, standard mean temperature different. Emitters: Column radiators, panel radiators, Towel Dryer, Floor Convector, selecting emitters.
